Western Governors’ Association Chair and Oregon Governor Kate Brown, asserting “we are on the precipice of a historic transition,” used this webinar to launch the Electric Vehicles Roadmap Initiative, which seeks to achieve an expanded regional agreement on electric vehicle charging infrastructure that can “unlock new potential across the West.
This roundtable discussion examined how to meet the increased demand resulting from the growth of electric vehicle use by consumers, government and private industry. The panelists highlighted the upgrades required for existing charging infrastructure and also examined strategies to reduce upgrade costs.
Workforce opportunities abound in the electric vehicles sector, but there also are significant gaps in the workforce and a need for more training. This webinar analyzed how smart workforce investments could address these gaps, and the local economic benefits of investing in a robust EV workforce.
