The highway is a network of electric vehicle fast charging stations located every 25 to 50 miles along Interstate 5 and other major roadways in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and California. The initiative is a collection of projects, funding sources, and partners with the same vision: to provide a network of fast charging stations enabling electric vehicle drivers to make longer trips and travel between cities easier.
Governors from Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2019 to provide a framework for creating an Intermountain West electric vehicle corridor to make it possible to drive an electric vehicle across major transportation corridors in the West. The Regional Electric Vehicle Plan for the West (REV West) is facilitated by the National Association of State Energy Officials.
